ScopriMiniera was born in 1998 together with “La Tuno srl” (which means “mine” in vernacular), a public-private joint venture company born to manage the project in June 1998. The Comunità Montana Valli Chisone e Germanasca, Finpiemonte SpA, Comuni di Massello, Prali e Salza di Pinerolo, Consorzio Pracatinat and 12 private societies of the Valley took part to its constitution. During the last years, the corporate team has changed and today there are 15 partners, 7 public, 7 private and Finpiemonte Partecipazioni Spa that is the majority shareholder.
The Statute of the society provides task of “management, preservation, promotion of cultural and tourist activities in the Valli Chisone and Germanasca”. The first task managed by La Tuno was the support to the Comunità Montana in the final step before the opening of the tunnel tour, since 25 October 1998 the society core business: the management of ScopriMiniera and later ScopriAlpi (Comunità Montana Valli Chisone e Germanasca properties and equipments are in loan for use to La Tuno Srl). Since 2003, the company manages of the Ecomuseo Regionale delle Miniere e della Val Germanasca annual planned activities management on behalf of Comunità Montana.
